Bio

Hello Friends and readers. I am Blaise Allen Ph.D, Director of Community Outreach for the Palm Beach Poetry Festival. I am a poet, photographer, licensed Clinical Social Worker, Medical Family Therapist, Registered Art Therapist, American Academy of Pain Management Board Certified Fellow. I live with chronic back pain and am in the process of writing a book called Back Story: Learning to Manage Chronic Pain. My husband of 30 years, Rich Guastella, is a bass player, I am his biggest fan and groupie. Rich and I moved from East Islip, Long Island, NY to South Florida in 1992 where I attended Nova Southeastern University for my doctoral studies. We’ve been married 30 years this coming labor day and have been blesssed with two dogs from Tri-county Humane Society. Sashie is our nine-year old Lhasa Apsa, and Doodles, our 3-year-old Bichon Frisse.
